Veggie Fresh for Memorial Weekend

Here it is, midday Saturday, May the 29th, and the Foothill Frolic Farm on Gammon Creek Self Serve Stand is fresh, full, and waiting for you to come pick out some vivid vegetables for your weekend.

Many varieties of Lettuces to choose from. There are reds, greens, and speckles, many different textures, shapes, and tastes to choose from...Leaf, and Romaine types. Just imagine, a huge platter filled with all different types of lettuce leafs for your family and friends to pile high on grilled hamburgers. Or the same platter drizzled with olive oil, vinegar, salt and pepper to be taken as a side to other grilled items.

The Beets continue to size up. I start picking to thin out and then as time goes on the beets continue to get larger. There are all four varieties of beets fresh in the cooler now! These beets are great sliced and sauteed or roasted. Plus, you have all those greens to use as well, either chopped up and added into a salad, or sauteed and served as cooked greens.

Also, there is beautiful and ruffly Russian Frills Kale. Staying nice and mild, therefore it is great chopped up fine for salads. The leafs can even be put on hamburgers, or you can go the traditional route and just cook them down lightly. Any way really, you cannot go wrong!

Scallions are availabe as well.

Really hoping that by tomorrow there will be some Cascadia Sugar Snap Peas, and Schweizer Riesen Snow Peas. The vines are full, I just need time to get them harvested.

All regenerative-organically grown vegetables are $2 or less...an incredible value!

Just as a reminder, for your convenience the Self Serve Stand is open 7 days a week for your convenience and for the next couple weeks we should have all the above items available. If you have been loving the self serve stand please tell a neighbor or a friend. If you have any questions or special request, please send me an e-mail allie@foothillfrolicfarm.com or message 423-483-7091
