Filet Tenderloin Roast Cut PreOrder

Approximate 2.5 lb Cut

 

This is a special "POP UP" Baldy Beef Cow named "Crazy"  G21.

She is a huge and  beautiful cow that needs to be offered because she has trouble reproducing and will make an excellent BEEF cow. 

 

All Primals are Cut into Roast  instead of having Steaks Cuts when a cow is YOUNG Aged, as we would never want a steak cut to be tough or not tender, and therefore when an beef animal gets past the age of 4 to veer on the side of non dissapointment we have all our primals that are generally cut into steaks cut into Large Roast.  So all of "Crazy's" Filet, Ny Strip(Top Loin), Boneless Ribeye, and Top Sirloin will be butcher cut into Roast. 

Now these roast might turn out nice steaks and  we encourage customers to try cutting a small portion of the roast into steak size to try as a steak if prefered. 

    

Hands Down though, YOUNG Cows make for delicious and flavorful Roast, perhaps even a pinch better than a 2 1/2 year old, if we do say so ourselves.

  • This YOUNG Cow, "Crazy" G21 will be the only beef we offer in our 2025-2026 Beef Harvest Season by the CUT-POUND.  

    This Beef Product Offering will allow customers to PreOrder Foothill Frolic Farm Beef Products singly/by the cut and not as a PreOrder Custom Beef. 

    We are planning on using either Stone Mountain Meats or the "to be opened soon" Appalachian Producers Cooperative just outside of Jonesborough, because our much loved and always used Family owned Processor/Butcher, Rusell Meat, is only a 100% VDACS certified custom beef facility.  

    When we offer our beef in this format, processing services are higher and our prices are higher, so in turn overall costs of beef cuts by the pound are higher.   For demonstration purposes, these price differences effectively show the comparative prices in between Foothill Frolic Farm's beef sold by the pound and our live animal custom beef shares.  

    These PreOrders from "Crazy" though will still have a designated on farm pick up time and you will be sure to receive the needed informative emails and texts to let you know when On Farm Pick Ups will begin.  

    We plan on harvesting "Crazy" on either  on one of the following dates...March 25th, April 22nd, or May 19th and once harvested Pre Orders will be available for On Farm pick up generally within 2 1/2 weeks and we will be in touch to let you know everything you need to know.  

    Final Cost of Beef Cuts will be determined by Weight, so all prices on PreOrders are estimated by approximate poundage of the certain beef cut.  Customers final end price will be determined at Pick Up.

    Foothill Frolic Farm does not farm the way we do to be able to offer a high end niche product. 

    We set out to farm custom beefs the way we farm because we know ecosystems: (a community of living organisms and their physical environment that interact with each other.) need to be resilient and to be resilient all parts of the ecosystem need to be able to be pure as possible.  We want the best for all parts of ecosystems and farming the way we do is the only way we can foresee farming!!

    We have always been inspired by the environmental pioneer, Aldo Leopold's Land Ethic and I like to think that Foothill Frolic Farm embodies the Land Ethic principles.....

     

    Aldo Leopold's environmental stance, known as the land ethic, is a philosophy that prioritizes the well-being of the Earth's biotic community. It encourages people to care for the land as much as they care for people. 

    Key tenets of the land ethic:

    • Consider the whole: The land ethic considers the relationships between soil, water, plants, animals, and people.
