This is a special "POP UP" Baldy Beef Cow named "Garden Call" G21.

She is a huge and beautiful cow that needs to be offered because she had nonfunctional udders and will make an excellent BEEF cow.

YOUNG Cows make for delicious and flavorful FLANK & SKIRT STEAKS, since these are known as the "tough" steaks no matter the age of the animal, the most important aspect of these steaks is the proper preparation of a long 12 hour marinade before grilling or smoking.

This Young Cow, "Garden Call" 210H is here NOW for our SUMMER Harvest Season by the CUT-POUND-RETAIL.

This Beef Product Offering will allow customers to PreOrder Foothill Frolic Farm Beef Products singly-by the PACKAGE/POUND and not as a PreOrder Live Animal Custom Beef.

We are using the New Appalachian Producers Cooperative just outside of Jonesborough, because our much loved and always used Family owned Processor/Butcher, Rusell Meat, is only a 100% VDACS certified custom beef facility. Nonetheless, and on another bright note, we have really appreciated and enjoyed working with APC and their crew and the state of the art, new processing equipment and their humane cattle handling practices!! This is the second time we have used them and each and every time they are working to make the butchering experience better.

When we offer our beef in this format, processing services from APC, USDA inspected beefs are higher and our prices are higher, so in turn overall costs of beef cuts by the pound are higher.   For demonstration purposes, these price differences effectively show the comparative prices in between Foothill Frolic Farm's beef sold by the pound and our live animal custom beef shares.

These Pre-Orders from "Garden Call" will still have a designated on farm pick up time and you will be sure to receive the needed informative emails and texts to confirm your On Farm Pick Up.

We plan on starting the first round of on farm pick ups for "Garden Call" orders on Sunday July 26th and will go through Sunday August  2nd.

Pick Up Time Daily during this time runs from 6:30pm - 7:30pm.

The Second Round of Pick Ups will start on August 28th and run through September 6th (Labor Day Weekend).

Pick Up time Daily during this time runs form 6:30 pm- 7:30 pm.

Final Cost of Beef Cuts that ARE NOT the straight forward ground beef 1 pound packages, like Soup Bones for Example,  will be determined by Weight, so all prices on PreOrders are estimated by approximate poundage of the certain beef cut. Customers final end price will be determined at Pick Up.

We set out to farm custom beefs the way we farm because we know ecosystems: (a community of living organisms and their physical environment that interact with each other.) need to be resilient and to be resilient all parts of the ecosystem need to be able to be pure as possible. We want the best for all parts of ecosystems and farming the way we do is the only way we can foresee farming!!

We have always been inspired by the environmental pioneer, Aldo Leopold's Land Ethic and I like to think that Foothill Frolic Farm embodies the Land Ethic principles.....
