Hello from Foothill Frolic Farm & Forest School
What an exciting week!
Thank you to everyone who has filled out the Interest Collector, asked thoughtful questions, shared feedback, and encouraged us along the way.
Site plans for the Farm School House, Founding Year, are in progress!
Also, we're now moving into the next phase: the search for our Founding Teachers.
Here is the information site:https://frolic-founding-path.base44.app
We're looking for experienced, degreed educators who believe children learn best through meaningful work, strong relationships, hands-on experiences, and connection to the natural world.
We're also hard at work finalizing the Year One curriculum. For those who have been asking about academics: yes, students will engage with traditional academic standards in reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies. Rather than teaching those subjects in isolation, we use a project-based learning model that weaves standards into meaningful projects inspired by student interests, questions, and real-world challenges.
Through those same projects, students will also develop communication skills, conflict resolution abilities, character, stewardship, practical life skills, tool use, food preparation, personal responsibility, and much more. We'll be sharing the specific curriculum framework soon.
Whether you're exploring options for your own children or simply following the journey, thank you for being part of this growing conversation.
Also, Foothill Frolic Farm & Debbie from Regenerate Education Lab will be at the Jonesborough Farmers Market this Saturday from 8:00 AM–12:00 PM. Come grab some Foothill Frolic Farm beef, learn more about the school, and help us build a community project that will grow week by week throughout the summer.
We'd love to see you there!
Until Next Time, Eat Well and Be Well and Please Pass Along through your favorite media!,
(even though we have held off on having a social media presence, we are perfectly fine for our readers to share.)
Allison Mills Neal of Foothill Frolic Farm
