Here at Foothill Frolic Farm, we are so pleased to announce that our Farm & Forest School Website is finalized and ready for exploring!
You can now learn all about Our Programs, Our Team, Our Curriculum, and Our Long-Term Vision.
But the absolute most exciting NEWS of all is that ENROLLMENT IS NOW OPEN for Fall 2026!
As we are naming this year our Founding Community Year, there are three different program offerings to ENROLL in and participate in. We were inspired to make this school year very customizable — allowing our community to get involved while giving families the opportunity to truly experience and witness firsthand what we are all about here at Foothill Frolic Farm & Forest School.

If you have a child or grandchild between the ages of 9–13 and have ever wondered what it could be like for them to have 150+ acres as their classroom, along with a simple, old-fashioned Farm Schoolhouse...

It is an unbelievable hands-on learning experience to walk the woods, creeks, and fields; to experience the seasons in real time and understand that they mean something more than a decoration; to work with tools and learn quality skills; to learn from animals and connect with them in a way that resonates within the heart; to garden and make compost; to be guided and taught by people who actually know how to DO things; to make something useful; to solve a problem the farm really has; to connect with nature in a way that allows children to understand that people and nature are interconnected in a life-giving way; to eat and cook together; to explore in the forest; to create art; to get dirty; and to be genuinely needed.
The magic of the experience is that learning is happening along the whole way.
You know, I am not sure if there have been any studies done on this, but I would guess that some of the most well-rounded, skilled, capable, creative, hardworking, and wise individuals were raised on farms, surrounded by caring and loving families, within tight-knit local communities, and with access to education either in the home or at the local one-room schoolhouse.
When farming, meaningful projects, and nature can be woven into education, we believe we are creating opportunities for more resilient, capable human beings who can thrive and be happy.
Families and children are actually allowed to participate in the interconnectedness of a local community's ecosystem and begin to realize that nature and humans are one fascinating web — not isolated pieces.
Here at Foothill Frolic Farm & Forest School, we believe that, like a healthy tree, meaningful learning develops from strong roots.
Everything we do — from projects and academics to stewardship, community meals, reflection, and outdoor experiences — is designed to help children grow in four interconnected ways.
When curiosity is paired with capability, when contribution is grounded in connection, and when growth is guided by character — children develop the knowledge, skills, confidence, and wisdom needed to thrive.
So, to get involved in our Founding Community Year, local families can choose from any of our three program offerings:
Our Seasonal Expeditions will be offered seasonally or as a whole-year package to homeschool families. We have 3 set Expeditions of the Fall and will have more in the Winter and Spring Sessions. Our first Expedition offered starts on Sept. 16th and is themed Orientation/Guardians of the farm. This expedition will involve navigation, mapping, compasses, and orienteering. First Aid Fundamentals. Farm Stewardship. Emergency Communication. To learn all about this and other offerings you will for certain want to end up exploring our website.
Spots are limited and will fill up quickly, as enrollment is already coming in as I type!!
The Founding Cohort Program can be enrolled in seasonally or for the whole school year. This program will most closely model and pilot what our Chapter Two and first complete 2027–2028 Microschool Year will look and feel like.
**(As I, Allie, am the Founder, a Farmer, and a Homeschool Mom, I am most excited about this Program. As Eastenn Dutch gets older and the Farm continues to require me as the full-time undertaking that it already is, I am so pleased to have the opportunity to eventually transition Eastenn Dutch into a real school program — one that allows me to transition into simply being his parent and farmer, rather than also being his educator, curriculum designer, and facilitator.
This School will offer all that I could have ever dreamt and imagined for a perfect and complete education, that is not just enrichment but the full deal. All that I wanted to include but never could juggle it all, as there was just not enough time in the day to be the best farmer, the best parent, and the best homeschool Mom. And not that I needed to be the best, but I at least needed to be able to do it, and my truth was that I could not be all three at once!!
Eastenn Dutch is looking very forward to being at minimum our first full time apprentice for this Founding Cohort Program. It is going to be life changing for us I do believe. This program is like a private, specialized, personalized program that has the school year covered completely. Where else can you send your child to be educated that is a farm in a farm schoolhouse that offers one day a week of one on one guide/teacher to student ratio, plus 2 days of a 1 to 8 guide to student ratio? So if you are a homeschool Mom looking to transition from being 100% Education Facilitator or if you are a family looking for an unbelievable private school alternative this Program is for you!)**
And, in addition, we are offering The Regenerative Educator Series — immersive workshops for educators, homeschool families, and learning guides, hosted at the farm and led by Deborah DeLisle of Regenerate Education Lab.
Matthew and I, as Founders, are so thankful for the exceptional team that has been brought together to create this much-needed school vision for the Tri-Cities region.
Both Debbie DeLisle, our incredible Thought Partner, and Brandon Burns, our Founding Learning Community Guide, bring so much experience, Grade-A character, and work ethic to the day-to-day life of Foothill Frolic Farm & Forest School.
Both children and families alike will understand the value Brandon brings to the daily learning table each and every day once they have the opportunity to spend a day around him! He has an innate guiding presence that will be at the heart of every Expedition and every Cohort season.
