Eating fresh, crisp, and unique organically raised-regenerative salad greens is one of the simplest ways to enjoy the flavors of the season while nourishing your body. This week, Foothill Frolic Farm's Veggie Farmstand is excited to offer a fresh seasonal salad mix that you can order now and pick up yourself at your convenience. Whether you are a salad lover or looking to add flavorful salads to your meals, or a one bowl salad wonder maker this mix brings together the best of what’s growing right now in our organically raised-regenerative garden.

What Makes Our Organically Raised-Regenerative Seasonal Salad Mix Special
Our salad mix is harvested fresh from our garden field. It includes a variety of greens that thrive in this season’s climate, offering a unique combination of flavors and textures. Here’s what you can expect:
Baby spinach for a tender, mild base
Beet greens with Baby Roots adding an earthy crunch with nice color
Red and green leaf lettuce for crispness and color
Chicory with its slightly bitter, curly leaves
This mix is perfect for creating salads that are both visually appealing and delicious. This is not your normal generic clamshell greens that are always on the shelf day after day and year after year at the grocery. This mix has character and pizazz, not normalcy!!
Why Choose Seasonal Greens
Eating seasonally means you get produce at its peak flavor and nutritional value. Seasonal greens are fresher because they don’t have to travel far or sit in storage for long periods. This freshness translates into better taste and more nutrients.
By choosing what grows well in the current season, farmers reduce the need for artificial growing conditions and long-distance shipping. This helps lower the environmental impact and supports local-organic agriculture.

Tips for Enjoying Your Seasonal Salad Mix
To make the most of your fresh salad mix, try these ideas:
Keep it crisp: Store your salad mix in a sealed container with a paper towel, or a salad spinner/crisper, or bag with air pushed out. This keeps the leaves fresh longer. Should last wonderfully in the bag you pick it up in!
Add variety: Toss in nuts, seeds, or dried fruit for texture and flavor contrast.
Dress simply: Use olive oil, lemon juice or vinegar, salt, and pepper to highlight the natural flavors.
Mix with other veggies: Add other seasonal sliced veggies, or shredded carrots for a colorful, nutrient-packed bowl.
Try One Dish Wonder Bowls: Use the salad mix as a base for grain and beans bowls, hard boiled eggs, or grilled or precooked cold meats and fish.
Benefits of Eating Fresh Salad Greens
Including fresh salad greens in your diet offers many health benefits:
Rich in vitamins like A, C, and K
High in fiber which supports digestion
Contains antioxidants that help protect cells
Supports hydration due to high water content
Eating a variety of greens also introduces different phytonutrients that contribute to overall wellness.
Supporting Local Farms and Community
By choosing Foothill Frolic Farm, you support us your local farmers who work hard to grow organically raised-regenerative foods. Although our primary expertise lies in custom beef, we also have significant experience in cultivating organic vegetables. However, our commitment to our cattle herds and local beef custom shareholders limits the time we can dedicate to growing as many vegetables as we potentially could. Local farming strengthens the community by keeping money circulating close to home.
It also aids in preserving the picturesque open farmland that we all prefer to remain as farmland, rather than being transformed into excavated flat areas stripped of subsoil.
Our Veggie Farmstand is proud to connect customers with the source of their food. We believe in transparency and quality, so you know exactly where your salad mix comes from.
What to Expect Next Week
Our seasonal veggies will change as the growing season progresses. Next week, you might find new additions like Broccoli Raab greens, or different types of lettuce. Some weeks we will not have anything at all as we do not have acres of vegetables planned, just enough for our family and hopefully a few extras.
Keep an eye on our website or subscribe to our newsletter to get updates on new produce arrivals and or any other special farm events or pop beef retail offerings.
Enjoy the taste of the season with our organically raised seasonal salad mix. Place your order today and experience the difference that fresh, local greens can make in your meals. Visit the farmstand at Foothill Frolic Farm for easy self serve pickup and bring home the best of this week’s harvest.
